Marine and Boat Building
Compass Marine Compass Marine Ltd. offers world-class service and legendary custom boat building drawing on t
he Caribbean and English tradition of shipbuilding and fine craftsmanship spanning many generations. Mike Farrington, owner of Compass Marine Ltd. is qualified in all areas of boat building. He worked as a boat builder at world renowned Ovingtons in Newcastle, Northern England and has built pretty much everything from a paddleboard to large sailing vessels of 60 ft.
The creative process begins when the client meets with Mike and shares ideas and specifications for the ultimate boat. Some owners may have already initiated design work with a marine architect or designer to help visualise that dream. Mike will work with you through the entire building process right up to the day you are ready to launch. All quotes and costs will be provided and the client will be involved and consulted in the process step by step.
So if you can’t quite find what you want, but you have an idea of what you have dreamed of owning, give Mike a call. He honestly love building boats and will be ha
ppy to build yours.
Compass Marine offers complete service on all makes and models of inboards and outboards. Your engines should be checked regularly in order to keep them running smoothly and to avoid calling for an emergency tow. Don’t have the time or the know-how, no worries we have 2 qualified mechanics with over 30 years of experience between them. We can do full rebuilds if needed as no job is too big for Compass Marine.
Rigging and Electronics
Your boat may have a shiny hull and a new engine, but it’s not going anywhere without electronics which have to be installed correctly. Erroneously installed electronics are a fire hazard and can also be the cause of an emergency tow back to shore. Fortunately you can trust Compass Marine as they have installed electronics on boats more times than they can count. This includes navigation devices, depth gauges and running lights.
So you prefer the wind over an engine and you have a sailboat, b
ut it’s rigging and sails are starting to look tired or just need a little help? Mike Farrington, owner and manager of Compass Marine is a qualified boat builder as well as an avid sailor and can take care of your rigging on everything from a pico to a 105′ schooner.
